Sigma Kappa

Chapter History

Chapter History

With Embry-Riddle being a STEM-focused school, Embry-Riddle has been primarily male-dominated since its establishment. Prior to 2019, there were 12 fraternities and only 3 sororities on campus. Seeing the need for a balance in gender representation, it was crucial, and almost necessary for another sorority to be installed at Embry-Riddle. Thus, in fall of 2019, the Lambda Kappa chapter of Sigma Kappa was born.

Officially installed on the 24th of November, 2019, we had a mission to welcome women into our chapter that can be themselves, and embody Sigma Kappa's four values of Friendship, Service, Personal Growth, and Loyalty. Every sister of Sigma Kappa Sorority is unique in her talents and skills. Throughout our short time thus far as Sigma Kappa women, we have found friendships that will last a lifetime and have learned skills that make us revolutionary leaders of today and tomorrow.
